Arising Empire/Warner

Vive La France. I suppose that‘s an easy entrance into a review to an album by a metal band from Paris. To think about what to buy while being in Paris another pointless link to the album title. I have to admit, I have never heard about these progressive lunatics before but can tell you all, it‘s a pitty I haven’t. Fair enough, ‘Souvenirs’ is their debut album, so I have a chance to get out of this fact of ignorance. The foundation of their sound is clearly defined: in your fucking face heavy metal. But the uniqueness remains in the detail. The decent piano parts, slight background keyboards and the shouts paired with catchy melodic vocal lines. Smack me if you want for not knowing this band before. But I’ll smack you back if you don’t go check them out now after reading my article.
