Anyone who loves melodic, well crafted and adventures metal, think of Evergrey, Kamelot and Symphony X, should give `Purgatory’ a spin. It’s the third album of Canadian band Borealis and releasing their best work so far: A conceptual epic about an emotional family tragedy. Guitarist Matt Marinelli really delivers as a singer and goes emotionally deep with his vocal chords, a sound that truly reminds of top singers Tom Englund and Russell Allen. `Purgatory’ is an intriguing musical journey inspired by modern metal, (neo) classic melodic power metal and progressive metal, loaded with strong emotions and dark atmospheres, completed with a rich sound and great musicianship.
