With the launch of new album `Up’ the American rock band Pop Evil is again heading for mainstream success. Simply, because the new material is easy to digest and the flirtation with pop music makes it appealing for radio as well. They set in the right beat and groove and of course the repeating sing along choruses are there plus they had a big help of producer Adam Kasper, known for his work with Foo Fighters, Soundgarden and Pearl Jam. The voice of Leigh Kakaty is pleasant, with a slight rawness but not too pushy and further these guys make sure there is also a constant edgy sound present on this album, like heavy sounding tracks ,,Core’’ and  ,,Vendetta’’. All in all `Up’ shows nothing complicated or highly intelligent but presents just simply feel-good music that is nice to have around.
