Unreal City born in Parma in 2008 from the ashes of “The Syllogism”. The two founders, Emanuele Tarasconi (keyboards, theremin and lead vocals) and Francesca Zanetta (guitar), met in the private studio of Emanuele to build, from the ground up, a complex and challenging project: bring back the classic sounds of progressive, symphonic and psychedelic art rock of the ‘70s in a modern music mood, trying not to simulate but to magnify the vintage and typical side of that period. The band, which name come from founders’ common passion for “The Waste Land” by T.S. Eliot, began to play live.
In 2012 the band published their first EP, “Unreal City”, containing 3 song with English lyrics.
In 2013 Unreal City recorded their first album, produced by
Mirror Records/BTF with the artistic direction of Fabio Zuffanti (Finisterre, Hostsonaten, Maschera di Cera) titled “La Crudeltà Di Aprile”. The album, released on 24th April, 2013 climbs many Prog Rock charts and in a few months became one of the best (and most reviewed) Progressive Rock albums of 2013.
The band performed on many great stages as Cre.Sta Festival at the Porto Antico of Genoa and Metarock Festival with Banco del Mutuo Soccorso in Pisa. In 2014 the promotional tour continues with great international festival such as Riviera Prog Festival (at Fiera Internazionale della Musica in Genoa) and Terra Incognita Progressif Festival in Québec City, Canada, where they received a great appreciation from the critic and the audience.
In 2016 Unreal City's second album "Il Paese Del Tramonto" has been released and the band spent 2015 and 2016 touring across Europe and Canada to promote the album.
