Preview | Dynamo Metalfest 2025 – 10 years – 3 days

Total Metal Mayhem!

With less than two weeks to go, it’s high time for a preview of Dynamo Metalfest 2025. In 2025 Dynamo Metalfest celebrates its 10th anniversary and we’re going to feel it in every bone and riff! For three full days, IJssportcentrum Eindhoven [NL] becomes the beating heart of heavy music. From legendary reunions to fresh metalcore and underground madness. What follows are my personal highlights. The acts I absolutely won’t be missing at this milestone edition.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 15 – A TRIBUTE TO THE PAST, READY FOR THE FUTURE

Opeth headlines the first festival day with a progressive masterclass. The Swedish legends return to their death metal roots with `The Last Will and Testament’, blending brutality and melody like no one else can. A must-see for me, both musically and emotionally.

Nailbomb, live for the first time since 1995. Yes, you read that right. Max Cavalera returns to Eindhoven for a once-in-a-lifetime reunion. Easily one of the most historic and exciting sets of the weekend.

Fear Factory revisits their 1995 Dynamo setlist in a special show that pays tribute to their own legacy and the legacy of Dynamo itself.

Paradise Lost, back on the stage they helped shape in 1995, bringing melancholic doom and timeless classics. A full-circle moment, and one of my top picks.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 16 – FROM NATIONAL PRIDE TO INDUSTRIAL GIANTS

Inherited, winners of the Dynamo Band Battle, kick things off with vicious energy. Their mix of thrash, groove, and hardcore hit me like a sledgehammer.

Within Temptation brings epic symphonic metal to the Dynamo stage. I’ve long admired Sharon den Adel’s voice, and this promises to be a spectacular live experience.

Ministry unleashes their politically charged industrial chaos—raw, loud, and exactly how I like it.

Static-X blends nu-metal nostalgia with fresh energy. Hearing ,,Push It” live again? Can’t wait.

Charlotte Wessels has truly found her voice as a solo artist. Her blend of gothic, alt-rock, and electro pop is intimate, bold, and deeply creative. I’m especially curious to hear it live.

Thrown represents the new wave of metalcore—aggressive, emotional, and full of promise.

BARK may be a last-minute addition, but what a replacement for Phantom Elite (who had to cancel all shows): dirty, fast, and utterly relentless. They hit hard and don’t let go.

SUNDAY, AUGUST 17 – CLOSING WITH FIRE AND FURY

Gojira is the crown jewel of this edition for me. Their live shows are spiritual, heavy, and technically mind blowing. I wouldn’t miss this for the world.

I Prevail brings the perfect mix of emotion and aggression. Their shows are intense, heartfelt, and unforgettable.

Kerry King, solo and joined by Mark Osegueda (Death Angel), delivers thrash firepower like no other. Slayer’s legacy lives on in this crushing set.

Kataklysm plays their album `In the Arms of Devastation’ in full.

Fleshgod Apocalypse fuses classical grandeur with extreme death metal. I still remember their earlier show – it’s stayed with me ever since. I’m beyond excited to see them again.

Hellripper brings old-school chaos with a Scottish twist. Think Venom and Metallica, but faster and more unhinged.

Rivers of Nihil is all about complexity, intensity, and immersive song writing. A prog-death gem I’m eager to see.

Dymytry Paradox combines masked theatrics with crushing riffs and catchy hooks. Visually and musically intriguing.

Coffin Feeder mixes death, grind, and hardcore with scene veteran energy. I’ll be in the photo pit for this one – count on it.

Mawiza from Chile delivers a spiritual and visual fusion of indigenous Mapuche folk and metal. Totally unique, and something I’m truly looking forward to discovering.

TEN YEARS OF METAL – THREE DAYS FULL OF UNFORGETTABLE MOMENTS

To me, this line-up feels like the perfect balance of past, present, and future. Dynamo Metalfest 2025 isn’t just a festival. It’s a celebration of what metal is, was, and can be.

Get your tickets. Prepare your neck. And most of all: don’t miss this.

Dynamo 2025 will be legendary.
