Coffee

By Johanne James

Hello. Guess who?

I am the least qualified person to talk about coffee, as I never drink it.
It tastes ghastly! The last time I had any was so many years ago that Noah was still building the Ark. It’s a stimulant, like I need stimulating, but it indeed serves its purpose for those who like it and are addicted to its effect. It gives you that get up and go when your get up and go has gotten up and gone. Hmm? There are so many brands that I wouldn’t be able to tell one from another, but I’m sure many of you coffee connoisseurs out there can educate me. But, the smell is very tantalizing, I only wish for me that it tasted as good as it smells, but unfortunately it doesn’t. I can only imagine, as with so many things out there, that it’s an acquired taste, a taste that I haven’t acquired.

Put your hands up if you are one of those people who cannot function without having that first cup of coffee in the morning?
It can bring you to life, and just when you feel your energy levels are dwindling throughout the day, you whip the horse and have another cup of the said stimulant. It never did anything for me other than give me a headache. I know, go figure? One cup was all I needed to put me off for the rest of my life. Anyway, that said many enjoy it so who am I to argue, I mean it’s not like I’m going to banish it when I become Prime Minister of Great Britain? There are even events named after it, such as coffee breaks and coffee mornings, but no one ever mentions hot chocolate? I suppose it wouldn’t have the same ring to it, hot chocolate break, and hot chocolate mornings? Nah, it doesn’t work for me. Anyway, go and enjoy your day, and Coffee.

Peace my friends.
