THE FIRST THRESHOLD GIG

By Johanne James

Well hello there!

We will have our first gig with our new singer Glynn Morgan on Sunday 12/11/2017 in Athens Greece.
But for the life of me the name of the venue eludes me. I’ll look it up in a moment. The preparations have been going well and we are all looking forward to our premier outing with this new line up. Glynn in my mind has been doing a sterling job and will do us proud and though the chemistry has changed it works very well indeed. But you know what they say, that the proof of the pudding is in the eating. Much of the new album will be played, at least an hour’s worth, I think, and thus the set will last a good 1 hour and 50 minutes, by which time we will know how it all works in front of an audience. We were laughing last week, asking ourselves that it’s a long way to go to do a rehearsal in front of people and what on earth are they doing there interrupting us in the first place? LOL, how rude! I do believe that the band The Silent Wedding will be supporting us on this little trip and seeing as they are from Greece they may well pull in a few more punters. We shall see. I don’t know what our popularity is there, but I guess we will soon find out of which I shall keep you all up to date on the next instalment.

I just hope the house drum kit can stand up to the pounding it’s anticipating.
And again I’ll know when the first crash and bang go in and as long as it stays put, the rest will be academic as they say. Failing that I’ll be chasing bits of kit around the stage, and I can tell you that has happened before and is very unpleasant and irritating as it can interrupt your flow! As you know, everything changes once you climb on stage and you are then at the mercy of the acoustics, but as long as we can all hear what’s going on the playing and the performance will take care of themselves. The rest of the Threshold clan say that these warm up shows, as we have another two in Wales and Manchester, will serve well to prepare us for the tour, starting at the end of the month and are very pleased with the progress.

Kyttaro.
That’s the name, but I’m not sure if it’s the name of the venue or the town. I shall keep you informed, but for now I’d like to thank you for listening and keep on rockin’!

Peace my friends.
Johanne James
