News | Roderick van den Brink releases two new songs

For ChildFund

+++PRESS RELEASE+++

The world’s first non-profit one-man rock band raises awareness for inequality.

After the release of his first EP ‘Sleeping Giants’ in 2021, Roderick is releasing two new singles where he once again tries to raise money for charity. This time ChildFund. The first single ‘Song for the Happy Few’ was released on May 31st and the second ‘Hollow Words’ will be released on June 14th.

ONE-MAN BAND

Roderick calls himself a one-man band and plays guitar, drums, bass and does the vocals for the new singles. He only received some help with the synths from none other than Vikram Shankar from Pain of Salvation and Silent Skies. The mix was provided by Buster Odeholm (Humanity’s Last Breath, Thrown, Vildhjarta). Musically, Roderick is inspired by bands such as Textures, Sleep Token, Bring Me The Horizon, Resolve and Vola.

GROWING INEQUALITY

‘71% of the world’s population lives in a country where inequality is growing. This is not sustainable’ says Roderick. He believes that inequality can be reduces if children, who hold the future, are supported to reach their full potential. With the two new singles, Roderick addresses the people who have the means to support and tries to stimulate them to donate to ChildFund, an international organization focused on providing everything from healthcare and security to education for children in need.
