Review | Bullet – Kickstarter

Steamhammer / SPV

‘Kickstarter’ is the first new studio album of Swedish hard rockers Bullet since 2018 and after a couple of spins I can say that Bullet recorded a nostalgic classic metal album indeed.

STRAIGHT UP ASS KICKING

The eleven new tracks can be best described as AC/DC meets Maiden, meets Accept, meets Judas Priest. In other words, vintage metal, or straight up ass kicking hard rock/rock and roll for sure! Just check out the opening title track ,,Kickstarter” and you will catch my draft for sure. It is a classic, in your face metal song in the veins of Priest, with great guitar riffs galore.

SINGALONG

Follow up tracks like ,,Caught In The Action” and ,,Open Fire” feature those very recognisable riffs and also the addictive, rather simple singalong choruses. ,,Chained By Metal” (again a very “original” song title…) is a hymn like song with mighty guitars. That one could turn into a live staple for Bullet.

The longest track is called ,,Night Falls Down”. It really reminds me of good old AC/DC, however to me this one sounds rather hollow and definitely not as good as the highlights of this album…

BULLET – THE CONCLUSION

Conclusion, if you like pure straightforward metal/hard rock in the veins of AC/DC and Accept then this is a must have album for you!
