Review | Diamond Head – Live And Electric
Silver Lining Music
The new live album ‘Live And Electric’ from the NWOBHM legends Diamond Head is a must for lovers/fans of pure metal and this still underestimated band really rocks like hell in twelve songs; kicking off with the classic ,,The Prince” and ending with the ultimate Diamond Head song ,,Am I Evil?”. The latter was of course covered in a brilliant way by no one less than the great Metallica, just like ,,Helpless” by the way. But the band composed these awesome songs and their “versions” on this spectacular live album are hugely impressive.
DANISH SINGER
The band consisting of Paul Gaskin (bass guitar), Karl Wilcox (drums), Andrew Abberley (guitar), Rasmus Bom Andersen (vocals) and original member and founder BrianTatler (guitar), recorded the twelve tracks in various places, among other in Cardiff (Wales), Aberdeen (Scotland) and Cambridge (England). The voice of the Danish singer Andersen sounds of course different from original shouter Sean Harris, but he does a very decent job as Andersen has fully integrated in that specific Diamond Head sound!
DIAMOND HEAD – THE CONCLUSION
The tracklist for this album is second to none with timeless metal classics like: ,,The Prince”, ,,Helpless”, ,,It’s Electric” and of course the ultimate Diamond Head song ,,Am I Evil?”. The Diamond Head songs from a later area like ,,Bones”, ,,Belly Of The Beast” and ,,The Messenger” are however also great heavy metal tracks displaying the fantastic musical chemistry of this still underrated band.
‘Live And Electris’ is a very solid and impressive live album of a true heavy metal legendary band, so buy or die and play it F…. LOUD; especially the killer track ,,Am I Evil?”!!!!!
